Sodium sulfate

Anhydrous sodium sulfate

Sodium sulfate is a sulfate chemical substance. It is usually a colorless, transparent or white powder, hygroscopic, commonly known as Glauber's salt, is an inorganic compound, a type of inorganic salt with chemical properties very similar to table salt. It is soluble in water, with most solutions being neutral, soluble in glycerol but insoluble in ethanol. High-purity, fine-particle anhydrous sodium sulfate is called Glauber's salt, and this substance can be used both in medicine and in industrial production.

Sodium sulfate (also known as refined sodium sulfate) is an important raw material for light industry and chemical industry, and is widely used in more than 20 industries such as chemical, light industry, textile, building materials, medicine, fertilizer, and synthetic fiber.

Application:

Applications of sodium sulfate

1. In the chemical industry, it is used to manufacture sodium sulfide, sodium silicate (water glass), and other chemical products.

2. In the detergent industry, it is used as a filler in the synthesis of detergents.

3. In the paper industry, it is used as a cooking agent in the manufacture of sulfate pulp.

4. In the glass industry, it is used as a substitute for soda ash and as a coagulant.

5. In the textile industry, it is used to formulate a coagulant for vinylon spinning.

6. Used in non-ferrous metal metallurgy and leather industries.

7. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used as a laxative and an antidote for barium poisoning.

8. In sulfate zinc plating, it can be used as a buffer to stabilize the pH value of the plating solution.

9. Used in the production of powder concrete admixtures and cement admixtures.

10. In organic synthesis laboratories, it is one of the most commonly used post-treatment drying agents.

11. Used as an analytical reagent, such as a dehydrating agent, a digestion catalyst in nitrogen determination, and an interference inhibitor in atomic absorption spectrometry.

12. In sulfate zinc plating, it can be used as a buffer to stabilize the pH of the plating bath.

13. Uses of anhydrous sodium sulfate (Glauber's salt) in livestock and poultry feed additives.
