Acetic acid
Product Description:
Glacial acetic acid
Acetic acid, also known as acetic acid or glacial acetic acid, with the chemical formula CH₃COOH, is an organic monocarboxylic acid and the source of the sour taste and pungent odor in vinegar. Pure anhydrous acetic acid (glacial acetic acid) is a colorless, hygroscopic liquid with a freezing point of 16.7℃ (62℉), solidifying into colorless crystals. Acetic acid is a saturated carboxylic acid containing two carbon atoms and is an important oxygen-containing derivative of hydrocarbons.
Although acetic acid is a weak acid based on its dissociation ability in aqueous solution, it is corrosive, and its vapor is irritating to the eyes and nose. Ordinary vinegar contains 3%–5% acetic acid. Acetic acid is a colorless liquid with a strong, pungent odor.
Basic components of acetic acid:
Molecular formula C₂H₄O₂, structural formula CH₃COOH, HAC is the abbreviation. The functional group in the structural formula is a carboxyl group, and the CAS number is 64-19-7. Because it is the main component of vinegar, it is also called acetic acid. For example, it exists primarily in the form of ester compounds in fruits or vegetable oils; and in the form of free acids in animal tissues, excrement, and blood.

Shipping:
1. Packaging Requirements: Glacial acetic acid should be packaged in special chemical containers, typically corrosion-resistant plastic drums or steel containers. The containers should be tightly sealed to prevent leakage and evaporation.
2. Labeling and Marking: The transport containers for glacial acetic acid should have clear labels and markings, including the chemical name, hazard class, and transport symbols, to ensure proper identification and handling by transport personnel.
3. Temperature Control: Glacial acetic acid crystallizes at low temperatures; therefore, appropriate temperatures must be maintained during transport to prevent crystallization and solidification. Generally, the transport temperature for glacial acetic acid should be controlled between 5 and 30 degrees Celsius.
4. Prevention of Vibration and Collision: Glacial acetic acid is flammable and explosive. Severe vibration and collisions should be avoided during transport to prevent container breakage and leakage.
5. Prevention of Sunlight and Moisture: Glacial acetic acid should be kept away from sunlight and humid environments to avoid affecting its quality and stability.
